About The Artist: Ross Wilson

Ross Wilson lives and works in Northern Ireland and is considered to be one of the foremost contemporary artists. Graduating with a First-Class Honours degree in Fine Art, Ross recieved his Masters from the prestigious Chelsea School of Art, London. Ross has had 25 solo exhibitions and has been a visiting speaker at both Harvard and Oxford Universities.

Commissions have included several Nobel Laureates and two in particular, Derek Walcott and Seamus Heaney, hang in the National Portrait Gallery, London. 1997 saw Ross Wilson's first public commission in bronze being placed at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast. In 1998 there was a travelling exhibition of his portraits in three major Russian cities.
